“Pippin” Tops List with 7 Awards
Followed by “Kinky Boots” with 3!


New York, NY (May 13, 2013) Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators for media covering New York theatre announced today its award winners for the 2012-13 season in 24 categories.


Broadway stars Judy Kaye, Audra McDonald, Michael McGrath, Donna Murphy and Tonya Pinkins will serve as gala award presenters at the upcoming 63rd Annual Outer Critics Circle Awards ceremony on May 23rd (4PM) at the legendary Sardis Restaurant. In addition to being acclaimed stage performers, the stars are also former recipients of the esteemed Outer Critics Circle Award.


As previously announced, based on recommendations by the OCC Executive Committee, a Special Achievement Award will be given to Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director and Ciarán O’Reilly, Producing Director) in recognition of 25 years of producing outstanding theatre.


Celebrating its 63rd season of bestowing awards of excellence in the field of theatre, the Outer Critics Circle, is an association with members affiliated with more than ninety newspapers, magazines, web sites, radio and television stations, and theatre publications in America and abroad.

The First Broadway/Off-Broadway Award Nominees of the Season!


Outer Critics Circle
, the organization of writers and commentators covering New York theater for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway, announced today (April 23, 2012) its nominees for the 2011-12 season in 24 categories. Broadway stars Lily Rabe and Richard Thomas presided over the (11AM) announcement ceremony underwritten by Mark D. Friedman, SVP at Halstead Property LLC at Manhattan’s Friars Club.
 
In addition, the OCC honored The Public Theater on its 50th Anniversary for presenting free theater at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. Alumni of Shakespeare in the Park and Public Theater productions Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara presented the special award to The Public’s Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham.
 
Celebrating its 62nd season of bestowing awards of excellence in the field of theater, the Outer Critics Circle is an association with members affiliated with more than ninety newspapers, magazines, websites, radio and television stations, and theatre publications in America and abroad.  The winners of the following categories will be announced on Monday, May 14th and the annual awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 24th (4PM) at the legendary Sardi’s Restaurant.
