- Saturday, April 19th, 2008 was the cut-off date to qualify for awards.
- Monday, April 21st, 2008 at 11:00 a.m., the awards nominations were announced at the Algonquin Hotel on West 44th Street. All members of the press were invited, as well as members of the Outer Critics Circle. A light buffet was served. Tony Award winner Karen Ziemba and stage and screen star Sandy Duncan announced the nominees for the 58th annual Outer Critics Circle Awards:

- Midnight, Saturday, May 10th, 2008, all Outer Critics Circle members had their votes recorded.
- Monday morning, May 12th, 2008, the awards winners were announced.
- Thursday, May 22 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., the Outer Critics Circle annual awards celebration dinner were held at Sardi's Restaurant. Members received information regarding tickets and seating. Some seats were made available to the general public.
